Meeting: 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the Month.
Venue: To be Notified.
Walk leaders when planning walks should stay on public rights of way (footpaths, bridleways, and byways) especially when crossing farmland or private property, and be aware walking on private land without the landowner's permission is considered trespassing in England and Wales.
The Walks should be around four miles long.
The walkers are a very sociable friendly group.
Everyone is welcome.
Walks are both rural and urban and walked at a steady pace.

The shorter walking group meets twice a month, walking at a steady pace in the relatively local area. It is a very friendly group and walks are no more than 4 miles. There is no limit to the group size and no commitment to take part in every walk. Brief details of each walk appear in advance on the u3a website. but you can contact the group convenor, details are on the Newsletter and in the Members Area:

Park in the children's play area car park in North Cave, opposite the church. Mainly flat walk on some filed paths and some roads through Hotham. Possibility of a coffee wagon in the hall grounds on the return. |

Park in Welton village centre. Walk will start from opposite the church. One steep climb up Chapel Hill towards Bow Plantation and Welton Wold Farm. Return via Welton Dale. 3.5miles |

Park at Towthorpe Corner picnic site on A614. 3.5 miles walking to Londesborough, towards the deer park, and return. |

Park in car park on left off the main road into Goodmanham. 3.5 miles on roadsides and disused railway line to Market Weighton and back. Some gentle uphill. Some walkers may wish to lunch at the Goodmanham Arms after the walk. |

Park at the top of Corby Park, North Ferriby. Walking through Terrace Plantation,to Scout Camp, along Wolds Way to Bow Plantation, down into Welton and back to North Ferriby. |

Considerate parking in Northfield Close, South Cave to access footpath in top corner. Walk to Everthorpe, across to Cave Castle golf course and return via Church Hill. |

Park in laybys on Swinescaife Rd – lorries will be going up and down from the quarry. Steep hill to start, then past quarry and vineyard towards Comber Dale, through Drewton Dale and return on A1034. |

10 30am Park near the footbridge at the bottom of Cowgate. The walk will cross the footbridge, go down Common Lane, to the Humber bank then round Welton Water and return. Totally flat but could be a little muddy in places. |

10 30am Parking in children’s play area car park. If full park on street or on roadside by church. Walking on fieldside paths and roads to Hotham and return through the park. Mainly flat though could be muddy in places. The coffee wagon should be there on our return stretch. |
