Walk leaders when planning walks should stay on public rights of way (footpaths, bridleways, and byways) especially when crossing farmland or private property, and be aware walking on private land without the landowner's permission is considered trespassing in England and Wales.

The Walks should be around four miles long.
The walkers are a very sociable friendly group.
Everyone is welcome.
Walks are both rural and urban and walked at a steady pace.

The shorter walking group meets twice a month, walking at a steady pace in the relatively local area. It is a very friendly group and walks are no more than 4 miles. There is no limit to the group size and no commitment to take part in every walk. Brief details of each walk appear in advance on the u3a website. but you can contact the group convenor, details are on the Newsletter and in the Members Area:

06^th Mar	Molescroft TA 029 414 HU17 9GP /// blinking.pouch.according	Meet in the car park for the picnic area off Grange Way, Molescroft opposite Hayride pub. Flat walking towards Leconfield, return via Wilberforce old railway route. 3.2 miles

03^rd Apr	Walkington SE 997 370 HU17 8RY /// enjoy.interacts.paints	Roadside parking near the Ferguson Fawcett or Dog and Duck. Circular 3 mile walk behind the Mere to Halfpenny Gate and return.
17^th Apr	South Cave SE 913 307 HU15 2EY /// sues.goodbye.loafing	Careful parking in Northfield Close to access footpath in top corner. Walk to Everthorpe, across to Cave Castel Golf Course and return via Church Hill.
01^st May	Raywell, Nut Wood SE 992 305 HU16 5YR /// pampering.realm.reworked	Roadside parking to access Nut Wood. Walking towards Turtle Hill and return past Wauldby Dam and Farm.
15^st May	North Cave SE 896 326 HU15 2GJ /// shipped.snipe.pampering	Flat walk past church and stream, round Wetlands, Low Mill Lane, and fields back into village. 4 miles.
05^th June	Newport SE 853 308 HU15 2RN /// slid.completed.handy	Park on canal side west (right turn from B1230). Flat walk, 4.25 miles.
19^th June	Kingston Rd, Willerby TA 042 297 HU5 5JN /// laser.diary.skins	Park on roadside near golf course and phone box. Walking towards Carr Lane, Wood Lane and Cottingham. Return past Haltemprice Priory remains.
03^rd July	Ellerker SE 925 294 HU15 2DE /// hikes.relating.buggy	Roadside parking to access footpath. Walking towards Brough, left to Brantingham. Return via Woodvale Farm and back to starting point. 3.6 miles.
17^th July	Goodmanham SE 888 430 YO43 3HG /// blown.fizzy.diver	Park in car park on left on main road in village. (Goodmanham Rd) Approximately 3.6 miles circular along paths, old railway track and pavements to Mkt Weighton and return. Opportunity to lunch at the Goodmanham Arms.

04^th Sept	Wauldby Farm,Chalk Lane. SE 988 294 HU14 3RA /// juices.grins.fevered	Park carefully on the road track (Chalk Lane) to the farm. Walking to the farm and dam, then towards Nut Wood and return.
18^th Sept	Barton Haven to Water’s Edge. TA 027 233 DN18 5BD /// furnish.balancing.kipper	3.2 miles. Meet at 10 15am in Humber Bridge car park to car share across bridge or park in car park at the end and to the left of Waterside Rd (B1218) “Humber Bridge Car Park.
02^nd Oct	Swinescaife Rd. South Cave SE 922 323 HU15 2AB /// snowboard.under.diamonds	Park carefully, up the hill, away from the cottage. Walking up the hill, past the quarry up to Comber Dale, return through Drewton Dale.
16^th Oct	Lazaat's, Jillywood TA 021 344 HU16 5SW /// carriage.panicking.durations	Roadside parking at the top of Wood Hill Way, Cottingham, near Lazaat's. Walking through golf course to Burn Wood, returning via Jillwood Lane.
06^th Nov	Broomfleet Circular. SE 877 269 HU15 1RW /// bulldozer.solicitor.stole	Park on road at the west end of Main St before the turning into Sleights Lane. 3.5 miles via canal, Weighton Lock, field tracks and paths.
20^th Nov	NO SHORT WALK!.	DUE TO CONVENORS MEETING.
04^th Dec	Elloughton SE 945 281 HU15 1JP /// newspaper.duet.bunks	Park on Main St. just beyond The Half Moon. 3.3 miles to Brantingham, through Brough Golf course and return.
18^th Dec	Tesco Beverley TA 035 399 HU17 9DA /// ordeals.graceful.commoners	Trades & Guilds walk. Park in Tesco's carpark, (3hrs free) or Flemingate (3hrs £1.00). Meet in Wednesday Market to do parts 3 and 4. Approx 3 miles so time for a coffee together afterwards.
