Walk leaders when planning walks should stay on public rights of way (footpaths, bridleways, and byways) especially when crossing farmland or private property, and be aware walking on private land without the landowner's permission is considered trespassing in England and Wales.

The Walks should be around four miles long.
The walkers are a very sociable friendly group.
Everyone is welcome.
Walks are both rural and urban and walked at a steady pace.

The shorter walking group meets twice a month, walking at a steady pace in the relatively local area. It is a very friendly group and walks are no more than 4 miles. There is no limit to the group size and no commitment to take part in every walk. Brief details of each walk appear in advance on the u3a website. but you can contact the group convenor, details are on the Newsletter and in the Members Area:

21^st Feb	North Cave SE 896 326 HU15 2GJ /// shipped.snipe.pampering	Parking in children's play area car park opposite the church. Walking to Hotham and return through "The Park".
07^th Mar	Beverley TA 029 414 HU17 9GP /// blinking.pouch.according	Meet in the car park for the picnic area off Grange Way, Molescroft, opposite the Hayride Pub. Flat walking to wards Leconfield. Return via Wilberforce old railway route. 3.2 miles.

06^th June	Ellerker SE 924 294 HU15 2DE /// nods.dial.atlas	Roadside parking to access public footpath. Walking towards Brough, left to Brantingham. Return via Woodvale Farm and back to starting point. 3.6 miles.
20^th June	Kingston Rd, Willerby TA 042 297 HU5 5JN /// laser.diary.skins	Meet in Kingston Rd, Willerby, near golf course and phone box. Walking towards Carr Lane, Wood Lane and Cottingham. Return past Haltemprice Priory remains.
04^th July	Broomfleet Circular SE 877 269 HU15 1RW /// bulldozer.solicitor.stole	Park on road outside the old school at the west end of Main St before turning into Sleights Lane. 3.5 miles via canal, Weighton Lock, field tracks and paths.
18^th July	Londesborough SE 878 439 YO43 3LW /// trucked.spokes.burden	Park at Towthorpe Corner picnic site on A614. Walking towards Londesborough through deer park, around village and return. 3 miles. Some of us may lunch at the Goodmanham Arms after the walk. Anyone who wants to join us is very welcome to.

15^th Aug	Goodmanham SE 888 430 YO43 3HG /// blown.fizzy.diver	Park in the car park on the left on the main road in the village, (Goodmanham Road) coming from the Market Weighton direction. Approximately 3.6 miles circular along paths, old railway track and pavements to Mkt Weighton and back to Goodmanham. Again, there is the opportunity to join us for lunch at the Goodmanham Arms.

03^rd Oct	Lazaat's, Jillywood TA 021 344 HU16 5SW /// carriage.panicking.durations	Roadside parking at the top of Wood Hill Way, Cottingham, near Lazaat’s. Walking through golf course to Burn Wood, returning via Jillywood Lane.
17^th Oct	Skidby Mill TA 021 332 HU16 5TE /// cone.items.useful	Park at car park near Skidby Mill, 4 mile walk through Skidby to Risby, returning via Skidby and Gallows Hill.
07^th Nov	Hotham Carrs SE 867 337 YO43 4XL /// simulations.unloading.anchovies	Park on the grass verge between Snake Hall and Hutt Farm. PLEASE DO NOT PARK CLOSE TO HUTT FARM OR BLOCK ANY OF THE ROAD 3.6 miles walk.
21^st Nov	Eastrington Nature reserve. SE787298 DN14 7PL /// kitchen.master.twitches	Park at Eastrington Nature Reserve carpark, 3.8 mile flat walk. Mainly footpaths and tracks
05^st Dec	Haltemprice Leisure Centre TA 032 292 HU10 6QJ /// when.onion.fruit	Park at Haltemprice Leisure Centre. Tranby Trail a 3 mile circular walk on roadside paths and footpaths. Relatively flat.
19^th Dec	Tesco Beverley TA 035 399 HU17 9DA /// ordeals.graceful.commoners	Park Tesco's (3 hours free) and meet at the Market Cross in Saturday Market. An urban walk, Beverley Crafts and Guilds Trail, not very long but looking for the sculptures and art depicting medieval Beverley. A fun walk for the end of the year!
