About Our Walks

Walk leaders when planning walks should stay on public rights of way (footpaths, bridleways, and byways) especially when crossing farmland or private property. Walking on private land without permission is considered trespassing in England and Wales.

  • Walking distance around 2-3.0 miles on track and field paths
  • Stout shoes or boots needed
  • Fresh air and exercise in the countryside
  • Friendly group of people

Fresh air and exercise in the open air, and the opportunity to have a cafe stop for a cuppa, cake and chat. Opportunity to lunch may also be available at some locations.

Walking distance around 2 - 3 miles on pavements, and easy tracks and country paths.
Walking pace leisurely about 1.5 - 2 mph with plenty of rest pauses when necessary. Occasional gentle inclines.

Appropriate walking footwear is needed : stout walking shoes / trainers or boots. Waterproof an advantage.

Friendly, sociable group of people.
We meet on the second and fourth Friday of the month at 10.00am subject to leader availability.

New members are always welcome. Walks can be seen in our list below. Numbers limited to 20 per walk.

If you have a favourite walk with a nearby cafe please send location and details to the group Convenor and say whether / when you would be able to lead it.
